With the capacity to chrome plate up to 10 ton parts and the technical skills for the smallest detailed inserts, we are confident that the chrome plating needs of your company will be met at Erie Hard Chrome.

Over the years, Erie Hard Chrome has been committed to supplying the best in chromium plating. Within our traditional chrome line, we offer several precision processes in a number of buildup levels and surface finishes.

Polished Chrome Plating

Polished chrome is plated with conforming anode for uniform thickness (ex. .0003" - .0005"). This technique offers a quick release for molds and retains hydraulic seal life. Complete before and after plating polishing is available.

Smoke Chrome Plating

Perfect for tool and die applications where tight tolerances are desirable. Smoke chrome plating provides anti-corrosive and anti-stick properties while minimal buildup maintains part size specifications.

Satin Finish Hard Chrome

Recommended for many high-wear applications. Satin finish hard chrome offers reduced friction and excellent durability. It is ideal for such applications as rollers, dies or slides where a non-reflective surface is desirable. Satin finish hard chrome is plated as polished chrome, but with 3 types of surface preparation.

Marvalloy (Hard Chrome Impregnation)

A matte finish EHC process providing exceptional durability and reduced friction with little or no size change. Marvalloy increases wear resistance in sliding surfaces, yielding long life and reducing maintenance. Low buildup levels and highly uniform dispersion help eliminate the need for undersized design and post-process machining. Marvalloy has a hardness in excess of 70 Rockwell C and is compatible with most ferrous and nonferrous metals. Click here for more info on our Marvalloy product.

Precision Flash Chrome

A selection of deposition levels for exact application requirements. The spectrum of flash chrome buildup grades offers not only corrosion protection and quick release, but increasingly durable wear surface.

Hard Chrome Buildup

Offers deposits for certain applications that require additional buildup, including shaft and roll work. Our Hard chrome build-up service is perfect for the repair of shims. Erie Hard Chrome offers skilled masking and tolerances as high as .060" in thickness. Baking for hydrogen embrittlement relief (10' X 10' X 6" oven).
